Peter Pilotto x Target

The spring 2014 Peter Pilotto for Target line was full of bold and bright, geometric and floral prints. This belted dress was a must-have with an affordably chic price point at $44.99.

I’ve been a longtime devotee to Target’s high fashion collaborations. Designer clothes for a fraction of the price? That’s what inspired Stitch & Strut. I still own pieces from past Target GO International collections including a few Erin Fetherston dresses, a rad Jean Paul Gaultier orange muscle tee, Missoni ‘60s-esque pumps and a Zac Posen sweater that’s become my staple.

When Target and Neiman Marcus teamed up for a massive Holiday 2012 collection with the CFDA and 24 top fashion designers, I found myself waiting outside Target before the doors opened at 8 a.m, rushing past stunned Target employees to grab what I could before Ebay postings sold them at double the price. That’s when a tradition began, and I’ve done the same for last year’s 3.1 Phillip Lim collab and the most recent spring line from Peter Pilotto. It will be no different when Altuzarra for Target hits stores September 14.

This sophisticated lineup by Joseph Altuzarra might just be my favorite yet, competing with the iconic zigzag patterns from the Missoni line or the 3.1 Phillip Lim bags. The Altuzarra for Target collaboration strays away from the fun and girly Target collections of the past, aiming to dress a sexy and confident woman in thigh-high slit skirts, ruby velvet blazers, military green trench coats, python print tops, deep-v maxi dresses and knee-high boots. Better yet, the line ranges from $17 to $90, with shoes, apparel, belts and lingerie.

To style the bold print on the dress, I accented the red iris print with a mini Riley Bleecker Coach bag in love red pebbled leather. You can find this bag in silver/white in saffiano leather on Macy's website.

At only $16.99, these Peter Pilotto for Target sunglasses were the perfect way to bring a little high fashion editorial couture into any wardrobe with the bold red iris print and eye-catching circular frame.

With less than a month left till the collab hits select Target stores and Net-a-Porter.com, I’m starting my own countdown showcasing OOTDs with pieces from past Target collections and my top picks to buy from Altuzarra. This look features a floral and geometric print dress with matching sunglasses from spring 2014’s Peter Pilotto collaboration. I paired these with a bone white Topshop necklace and my Coach mini Riley Bleecker bag in love red.
