Mermaid Brigade: Forever 21 Ringer Tee

As a '90s baby, The Little Mermaid was on repeat at my house as a child. With her cherry red locks and killer vocal chords, Ariel has always been my favorite Disney princess who inspired my fascination with mermaids ever since first seeing the film. I still belt "Part of Your World" on the regular, but I digress...

I was passing my local Forever 21 recently and saw this ultra-cool, knit ringer tee with an embroidered "mermaid" graphic in script letters. It gave me some serious Ariel vibes, so I had to feature it as a Stitch of the Day.

I've been a little obsessed with script lettering lately ever since Coach's Fall 2015 line featured it on everything from bags to jewelry. I also love ringer tees with their history in rock-and-roll subculture. The mermaid badge adds a little whimsy to an otherwise simple yet classic tee and has become an essential in my "off-duty" wardrobe.

To keep in line with the off-duty, rock-and-roll appeal of my ringer tee, I paired it with some of my favorite accessories as of late. This burgundy rip and repair Shadow bag from Coach's Fall 2015 line emits motorcycle gang edge with leather stitching and chain strap. I paired it with my Coach X Gary Baseman hangtag featuring the wild beast Buddy Boy; it further adds to the whimsical nature of my tee, juxtaposed with the edginess of the Shadow's rip and repair details.

These ruby calf hair slip-ons from ASOS remind me of Ariel's vibrant hair and also match the bands of my tee. For jewelry, I chose my Coach leather and chain toggle bracelet, Coach "Wanted" script ring, and Charming Charlie nail bangle to keep with the edgy theme.

Till next time!
