Hello Style Strutters! So it’s been a while since our last post—a month today actually—but we’re back with all new content this week, delving in to fall fashion. Since Fonzi and I live in Florida, it doesn’t get too cold here this time of year; most students on my college campus are still in jean shorts! Fall fashion is my favorite, and although it will only get down in the 30s here at the lowest, we’ll offer you some looks to embrace the season.
Today’s Menswear Monday is a look that can easily transition from the office to date night with a 1950s feel. Fonzi actually wore this to our 3-year anniversary dinner back in September. It’s very simple and easy to put together and interchange, depending on the color tie, oxford shirt, sweater or shoes.
For this look, we chose an H&M forest green sweater as the starting point. Forest green is one of my absolute favorite colors. It’s not a common color I find while shopping, so when I do find it, I snag it quick. What’s great about forest green is it can work like a neutral, just like navy.
We paired a white oxford and satin black tie underneath the sweater, both bought from different eBay vendors (Fonzi is an eBay connoisseur, so stay tuned in the upcoming months for his advice on shopping eBay fashion). His pinstripe pants from Hot Topic offer a retro twist while still remaining professional.
For shoes, we chose these funky Steve Madden oxford-style leather boots from Nordstrom Rack that offer a little edge to this otherwise more conservative outfit. Fonzi also chose his signature black plastic frames from Gant to finish everything off.
